Dr Simon Cherriman - Nestbox Workshop

 The North Yunderup Community Association proudly presents a full day workshop opportunity with Dr Simon Cherriman. To say this event will be mind-changing and deeply inspirational seems to be under-selling it. Simon has a wealth of knowledge about, and a deep passion for our natural environment. 

We invite you to come along for any number of sessions that suit your schedule – and we warmly invite children to be part of this event. 

Session 1 gives us the opportunity to hear about Dr Simon Cherriman’s work and to ask questions about our locality. He’s a font of knowledge on local birdlife.

Session 2 will see us forming into groups to start construction of various bird and marsupial nesting boxes led by Simon.

Session 3 will have us painting the nesting boxes and then taking a walk to identify suitable locations for installation while the boxes dry.

Session 4 – Simon will show off his incredible climbing skills to install the nest boxes. This is an unbelievable experience, watching this man at one with nature swinging confidently from great heights.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Shire of Murray and ALCOA, our community has the incredible opportunity to spend time with the inspirational Dr Simon Cherriman.
